Get clarity around a specific situation that is coming up for you in a big way, such as:

  • Buying a car, home or business

  • Missing objects or missing pets

  • Questions about relocating

  • If a job or opportunity is a right fit

Horary astrology is the branch of astrology that deals with answering specific questions that usually can’t be answered with the natal chart. Questions like, “Should I move in with so-and-so?”, “Is it good for me to take this job?” or even questions like, “Where is my missing emerald ring and will I be able to find it again?” (Or, missing dog, etc.) Seriously, it can be that specific and physical! They can be about buying property, or will you get pregnant this year. You can use horary to understand the nature of whatever situation you are in and to help you make informed decisions regarding that situation.

Questions must be important and present for you, and for lost pets/lost object questions, you must have done your due diligence in trying to find them yourself first. Trivial questions don’t have a chart, and questions that don’t have to do with you personally won’t show up in your chart, get it? Some of the more life-y questions can be answered using natal techniques too, so in that sort of question, if you do know when you were born,  I usually use both horary and natal techniques. The horary has a certain clarity and an impersonal, to-the-point quality that I appreciate. The truth is, I absolutely love horary astrology and am a bit of an evangelist about it.

The way it works from a practical standpoint is: You send me your question and I take note of the time I receive, comprehend, and commit to answering the question, then cast a chart for that time and read the chart like a story which tells us about you, your question, and its answer.

I studied horary at the fantastic School of Traditional Astrology

Because horary astrology is pretty unfamiliar to most people, even astrology-lovers, I share here a few resources: A 15 minute audio recording of me sharing more about what horary is, and an example horary I took for my partner, from when she had a frozen shoulder and was trying to figure out what was going on. The audio file of that is me giving the full story including my chart judgement and how it all worked out, and chart is pictured below.

How this works…

>> Please email me (soilandstarsart@gmail.com) your question. Don’t worry about how it’s worded but give me as much information as possible to help me understand your question and the situation as a whole.

>> Please send payment (Link below) or Venmo @mollie-moorhead - I’ll start working on your question AFTER I receive payment.

>> I will have your answer within three days from when I receive payment, excluding Sundays and major holidays, or if I am on vacation. If your question is urgent, write “Urgent” in the email subject line please, and I’ll do my absolute best to have it to you the same day - or alternatively, tell you right away that I am not able to take your question.

>> I’ll write up my notes and send them to you for your reference. It’s up to you (and the type of question it is) if you want to meet and talk about it, or if you just want the notes. For lost object horaries and other questions where you really just want an answer, you don’t want to talk about it, we can usually just exchange emails. If you want to meet, you can book an appointment. Otherwise, just email me your question (SOILANDSTARSART@GMAIL.COM) and send payment.

>>If you want to meet and talk about it, we can schedule a time. I don’t charge a big difference between horaries with an appointment or email-only because getting together and talking about it is the easy part! Most of the work happens on the back end.

  • I read horary charts using Regiomontanus house system and follow the methods I learned from The School of Traditional Astrology, which is based on seventeenth century astrologer William Lilly’s work. I use modern planets but not as house rulers.

  • I am happy to take a look at medical and health matters from an astrological perspective, and my training as an herbalist, but I am not a doctor or a licensed health provider so do keep that in mind, and when in doubt defer to someone who is, and to your own best judgement.

On Fees and Payment

Horary readings are $100. Email only horaries are $80. Here is a payment link you can use!
