Hi there, I’m Mollie.

I'm an astrologer and a bit of a renaissance person. I'm that kid who got into trouble for talking all the time, and who was always daydreaming and drawing pictures. Now I still do those things, but I also get to read charts for a living and support other curious souls in finding their way through life’s transitions, ruts, hard decisions and uplevels - though times of confusion when it would be really nice to have someone else to walk alongside and offer insight.

I’ve had a meandering career path, including having my own business as an ayurvedic practitioner and bodyworker in Oakland, California for five years after I finished ayurveda school. I also worked in many a kitchen and farm (and lots of other places), both as a younger person and then again after I left my career in ayurveda and was trying to figure out my next move. Traditional school didn’t work as well for me, but I have a nearly-endless love of learning and am continuously taking classes and exposing myself to new ideas.

I live with my partner and our old cat in a little house with a big garden.

With the baseline understanding that we are all ninety-nine point something percent sea water, which is the constant lovemaking of spirit & matter, and our differences are pretty minimal…

Let’s get to know each other a bit better. Some stuff about me:

I love to…

drink tea and write in my journal (if I’m lucky the cat will join me)

meet new people and encounter new ideas

walk in the woods & swim in wild waters

adventure and celebrate with friends

feel paintbrush on paper

putter around: re-organize my room, weed the garden, etc.

nap

Best memories I keep coming back to

Riding on the open-air back of a train for hours and hours through northern Thailand, dangling my feet as we passed through forests and by villages

My first kiss with my love

Star gazing from the back of a snow bike one night in Utah, my face completely frozen but worth it

Walking all day & playing my flute in the East Bay regional parks (many times, but they all blend together)

Catagories of personality + energy

Capricorn Sun / Cancer Moon / Libra Rising + Asc. Ruler Venus in Capricorn

Enneagram type 9 (+ numerology 9 too, but I haven’t delved much into that)

Human design: 3/5 Generator

Four Tendencies: Rebel

Extroverted introvert/introverted extrovert, and possible INFP

I’ve always been on some sort of journey of marrying wildness and freedom with grounded practicality, and of bringing beauty and magic into the everyday.

So far, the big, ongoing projects of my adult life have been: Healing my attachment stuff (creating security internally), and figuring out how to navigate the material plane and care for myself without losing myself in other people’s stories and in all the distractions.

My Journey with Astrology

I had been interested in astrology for a long time…ever since I became a lesbian.

(Honestly I’ve always been bisexual, and it’s never been a big part of how I define myself. But what happened is when I was twenty-one, I dated a woman for real for the first time and she and her friends were REAL lesbians - many of them did not like me - were always asking strange questions like, “What are your signs?” (like, plural) and speculating about the astrology of their various adopted shelter cats, whose birthdays were unknown.

I had no idea what they were talking about and it seemed a bit silly, but I wanted to be in on it, so I picked up a copy of Linda Goodman’s Sun Signs at the bookstore with my mom one Sunday afternoon and proceeded to read the entire thing quickly, just soaking it in.

For many years, I was your average astrology enthusiast, reading a book or taking a class here and there. I was never that into reading my horoscope but I loved to read about the planets and signs.

Eventually time found me between careers, working alone in a kitchen for hours at a stretch, binging the Astrology Podcast while I made cookies and cinnamon rolls and cakes. I could see myself from the outside: a tired woman sliding into middle age with sore feet and graying hair under an old bandana, but something inside me was growing quietly, like an onion sprouting in a cupboard: I was becoming an astrologer.

There was this ravenous hunger in me to learn astrology. I couldn’t explain it, it made no sense, but I went with it. I went as far as I could with podcasts and then moved onto online courses and books (listed in my CV, below), and spent hours at a stretch learning to delineate and interpret charts. In those early days, I had a study buddy who lived in my neighborhood, someone I had known for years and years, and she would walk over and we would study together. She moved away, but I still have regular study buddies online.

At a certain point, I started reading charts for friends for free, and that helped me a lot to put the pieces together. Then I went to reading charts for donation or trade, and eventually I felt clear that it was time to start charging money - but I kept a day job for two years after that point.

Astrology is endlessly interesting to study and practice, and it turns out it also gives me the opportunity to do what I love:

Connect deeply with another soul on their journey

get to the heart of things right away

Serve as a guide and a catalyst

listen, ponder, reflect, share wisdom

hold multiple truths at once

Being an astrologer involves other things like writing, teaching, now podcasting (new project), and businessy stuff, and I love nearly all of that too.

If you’ve made it this far, thank you for the gift of your precious time and attention.
